    Description

    Illustrated, Leather Binding

    Illustrated with frontispiece and many in-text images. A comprehensive history of the beginnings of civilisation, with accounts of Christianity and Islam and the effect of religion on the Greek and Roman societies. Includes a chronological table of events. Written by John Hoyland, an English Quaker and author. Bound by Bickers & Son Ltd. London.

    Condition

    Bound in half green calf with green cloth boards. Externally, sound with rubbing resulting in light loss to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. A small crack to the front joint at the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers. School bookplate to the front pastedown.
