A bright set of illustrated comedic works. Two are written by A. P. Herbert and one is from Anthony Armstrong.
In the original blue cloth binding with gilt illustrative stamps to the front boards.
The two works from Herbert, 'Plain Jane' and 'Laughing Ann' feature a series of humorous poems and verses, some of which have previously appeared in the British satirical magazine, Punch.
'The Boy Who Hiccupped' is a book of "Fairy Stories for Grown-Ups", with hilariously depicts popular fantasy tropes and characters such as dragons, fairies and Prince Charming in a satirical light.
All works are humorously illustrated throughout with an array of vignettes.
Condition
In the original cloth bindings. Externally, smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards, heaviest to 'Boy Who Hiccupped'. Darkening to the spine of 'Boy Who Hiccupped'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Offsetting to the endpapers of 'Plain Jane' and light spotting to the endpapers of 'Boy Who Hiccupped'.
