A signed presentation copy of this work, with the inscription 'H.P.G. Louis S.L. June 26/36' to the half title. In a lovely half morocco binding.

The first edition, first issue, retaining the original illustrated map rear endpapers. 

Illustrated with thirty-three photographic images. Collated, complete.

An impressive angling autobiography, regarded as a classic work on fly-fishing and chalk streams.

With a single page of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

Rebound in quarter morocco with marbled paper covered boards, retaining the original rear map endpapers, but with front endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to half title. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot or minor closed tear to page perimeters.
