Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon, With Dustwrapper

In the original publisher's red cloth binding, with the original, very scarce, unclipped dust wrapper. This is a first edition of the work, dated using Jisc from copies of the work held at Sheffield Hallam University Library.

This work was written by Herman Cyril McNeile, a British soldier and author who often drew on his personal experiences in the trenches during the First World War. McNeile is most remembered for his Bulldog Drummond series, writing this collection under the pseudonym Sapper.

This series features Hugh 'Bulldog' Drummond, a veteran from the First World War who tires of his mundane life and becomes an adventure-seeking detective. The character has since appeared in novels, short stories, in plays, films, on television and in graphic novels.

This particular work is the third novel in the Bulldog Drummond series, following the events after Professor Goodman's suspicious death. Drummond untangles a sinister plot of greed and murder, with a dangerous face-off with his archenemy in a thrilling motorboat chase.

With a booksellers label of Gouldens, Canterbury, to the front paste down.
