A collection of thirteen first editions, published from 1925 to 1932, from The Studio's series on 'Modern Masters of Etchings.' Each volume is introduced and commented by Malcolm C. Salaman, English author, journalist, and critic.

Each volume illustrated with twelve exceptional etchings tipped in representative of the work of each artist, each with its protective tissue guard. Collated, complete.

This series is dedicated to some of the leading exponents of the etcher's art in the nineteenth- and early twentieth-century. The present collection comprises titles on:

Condition

In the original publisher's binding over uniform blue paper covered boards, titles on paper label to front board. Frank Brangwyn vol. II bound in paper wraps. Externally with shelf wearm bumped to head and tail of spine, minor loss to spines of Lumsden, Griggs, Walcot and Blampied, where it's also lightly chipped. Damp marks scattered to boards vol. 4, 11. Loss to spine label to James McNeill Whistler, J L Forain, Sir Francis Seymour Haden, Sir D Y Cameron, Frank Brangwyn vol. II. Bookplate front pastedown Joseph Pennell vol. 28. Previous ownership inscription to front board Brockhurst volume, dated 1928; Walcot, undated; James McNeill Whistler, undated. Inscribed to title page to Alphonse Legros volume, dated 1935. Internally, generally firmly bound. Minor spotting to first and last few leaves of the occasional volume, pages otherwise generally bright and clean.
