First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding
The first edition of this work. Limited edition, numbered 283 of 840 copies. Collated, complete. With the original wraps bound in, which are in a pristine condition. Beautifully illustrated, by popular illustrator, Jean-Gabriel Daragnes. Daragnes was notes for his modernist style. Other popular works he illustrated include the Ballad of Reading Gaol by Oscar Wilde, and 'Suzanne and the Pacific' by Jean Giraudoux. Morand's works were hailed for their style, wit and descriptive power. He has been categorized as an early Modernist and Imagist.
Condition
In a half calf binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are extremely bright and clean.
