This work details the equipment, management of skis, jumping and running across country.

First published in 1911, this is the sixth impression of this popular work.

Presented in the original delightful decorative boards.

Written by Vivian Caulfeild, the author of numerous works on skiing.

With the ownership bookplate of Sir Philip Lee Brocklehurst, a member of the Nimrod Expedition to Antarctica led by Ernest Shackleton. He was awarded the Silver Polar Medal in 1909, and was due to join Shackleton's Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in 1914, but was deployed to Flanders instead.
