The first edition of Edward Dupont's study of 'Hindu Decoration'. Dupont was the librarian of the Guimet Museum, in which a number of the works depicted here were held.
Consisting of six pages of text, followed by forty-eight loosely inserted plates, six of which are in colour. Collated, complete.
Stunning examples of Hindu art are represented with these plates, including studies of textile design, pottery, jewellery, frescoes, embroidery, masks and furniture.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth backed portfolio style binding, with cloth ties and paper covered boards. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with sticker residue to back strip head. Small losses of paper to front joint. Discolouration and handling marks to boards. Internally, unbound, as issued. Light handling marks to first few leaves, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
