The first edition of this uncommon work. 

Containing a classified and thorough catalogue of the books, maps, and plans in the library of the Society for the promotion of Hellenic and Roman studies. 

The main section is catalogues in the order of the Bursian's Bibliotheca Philologica Classica, meaning Instruments of Study, Language, thought and history, The locus in quo, and The objects discovered. 

A fascinating catalogue, with literary, archaeological, topographical, artistic, and historical content. 

With a key to the arrangement of the Catalogue included to the rear of the volume in a folded sheet.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally smart with some shelf wear and a minor edge wear. The boards are slightly rubbed. With a bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Inscribed by a previous owner in ink to the front pastedown as well as the front free endpaper, dated 1946. With some minor annotations in pencil to the occasional leaf and to the recto of the rear board. Internally, firmly bound, although the hinges are slightly loose but firm to the front board, The pages are generally clean throughout with only a touch of age toning, as usual.
