Illustrated, Leather Binding

French language. Three volumes. A dictionary of artists, painters, sculptors, draftsmen, and engravers, with extensive bibliographical information on individuals primarily for the use of art museums, auction houses, historians, and dealers. Collected by Emmanuel Benezit, a French gallery owner, collector, and art historian. Volume A-C is illustrated with sixty plates. Volume D-K is illustrated with forty plates. Volume L-Z is illustrated with thirty-two plates. Collated complete.

Condition

Bound in half crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, smart with rubbing and minor loss to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Original paper wraps bound in. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning.
