A brilliant collection of short stories for adults by the noted children's author Edith Nesbit.
This collection includes nineteen tales, a mix of genres from romance to horror. Notably this includes her horror story 'The Pavillion', which features a vampire plant, and a woman who is so beautiful that she enchants any man who meets her.
Other stories in this collection include 'The Unfought Duel', 'The Glastonbury Scandal', 'Saccharissa and the Candlesticks', 'A Woman's Vengeance', 'Not Exceeding £5', and more.
Nesbit is beloved for her classic children's novels, of which she wrote around forty during her life. She often wrote in a contemporary fantasy setting, which inspired many authors, such as Diana Wynne Jones, J. K. Rowling, and C. S. Lewis.
