First edition. With a letter from W. H. Smith & Son enclosed with the volume, addressed to a Mrs. Wykeham-Musgrave. Limited to one thousand five hundred copies, of which this is number four hundred and eighty-three. Illustrated with one hundred and three plates, many of which are in colour. Collated complete. A detailed history of sporting prints from England, with descriptions and relevant commentary throughout. Written by Ralph Nevill, a British sportswriter and historian. Edited by Geoffrey Holme, an English historian of early eighteenth century English politics.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and fading to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting.
