Description

Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

This comprises a catalogue of membership of the elite Alpine Club, founded in 1857. The club was founded to support mountaineers by key figures during the Golden Age of Alpinism.

Each volume contains a stamp to the title page stating 'publisher's file copy', and a label to each cover detailing 'file copy'.

Compiled by Arnold Louis Mumm (1859-1927), honorary Librarian, Secretary and Vice-President of the Alpine Club.

Complete from the founding of the club in 1857 through until 1890.

Three very scarce volumes detailing the history of the Alpine Club.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with a little bumping to the head and tail of the spine, labels stating 'File Copy' to each front board, and a few spots to the spines of volumes I and II. Publisher's stamp to each title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
