A lovely complete set of Martin Secker's 'Adeplhi Edition' of Austen's works, with six volumes - all bar 'Sense and Sensibility' - retaining the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrappers.
Present here are 'Emma'; 'Mansfield Park'; 'Sense and Sensibility'; 'Persuasion'; 'Pride and Prejudice'; 'Lady Susan and The Watsons', and 'Northanger Abbey'.
A lovely copy of Austen's complete works.
With 'Emma' dated 1936 to the colophon, and the remaining volumes undated.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with six volumes in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrappers. Bumping to spine heads and tails, with minor fading to back strip heads and tails. Front hinge of 'Sense and Sensibility' and rear hinge of 'Mansfield Park' lightly strained, but firmly held. Dust wrapper back strips age toned, with losses of paper to back strip heads and tails, most concentrated to 'Mansfield Park', 'Persuasion', and 'Pride and Prejudice'. Significant closed tear to fold over front joint of 'Mansfield', with front flyleaf of 'Pride' detached but present. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
