A presentation copy of the very scarce first edition of this study of the Dashwood family of Oxfordshire, with a loosely inserted slip reading 'Sent by desire of Sir George Dashwood', who also contributed the foreword to this work.
With a folding pedigree table to the rear, a photographic frontispiece, and further illustrations throughout.
Loosely inserted also is a two leaf typed account of a 'Brief History of the Village and Church of Kirlington', which makes further reference to the Dashwood family throughout.
With the inscription of Selina Leven, August 1922 to the front pastedown, and a further inscription discussing her son, John Leslie-Melville, 12th Earl of Leven, who died 11th June 1913.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with a bump to the head of the front board. Loosely inserted slip and typed sheets. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
