Richly illustrated throughout with eighty-one plates, twenty-seven of which are coloured. Collated complete.
This work includes examples of modern decorative art in England in the form of embroidery, lace, tapestry, printed cottons and velvets, stencil patterns and wallpapers.
From English artist, designer and writer, William George Paulson Townsend. Some of his wallpaper designs survive in the collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

In the original cloth binding. In the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, with edgewear and bumping to the head and tail of spine, otherwise very smart. Dust wrapper is edge worn and has a few small chips to the wrap. Sunning and offsetting to the spine. Marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
