A lovely edition of Baudelaire's 'The Flowers of Evil', now considered to be one of the major works of French poetry, influential to the symbolist and modernist movements. In a half morocco signed binding from Canade.

Inscribed by celebrated and prolific English composer, music critic and pianist, Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji, to the front endpaper: 'You ought to possess a good copy of this remarkable poet's work, bless you, yours ever, K'.

With the publisher's original wraps bound in to the front and rear of the work, illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.

Edited by Jacques Crepet, this is a wonderful volume of the works Baudelaire.

Condition

In a half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Fading to back strip, otherwise externally excellent. Binder's stamp to head of front endpaper. Inscription to front endpaper. Publisher's original front and rear wraps bound in to front and rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
