The uncommon first edition of this brightly illustrated children's book.

Illustrated with thirty-six vibrant full colour plates by Frank Adams. Collated, complete.

Adams was a popular children's book illustrator of the period who was also well-known for his landscape art, portraits and watercolour paintings. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy.

This vibrantly illustrated work features three comic stories: Three Jolly Huntsmen, The Little Man and his Gun, and Three Jolly Fishermen, each accompanied by Adams's illustrations.

With a contemporary inscription, dated 1922, to the front free endpaper, and a bookseller's label to the front pastedown.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth backed paper covered boards, with pictorial onlay to front board. Externally, bright. Bumps to rear board, resulting in small losses to the paper. Light discolouration to perimeters of front board. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Bookseller's label to front pastedown, with inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with the odd handling mark to page perimeters.
