First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon, With Dustwrapper
Limited edition, numbered 331 of 550 copies printed by the Baynard Press. Selected by Campbell Dodgson, with accompanying text by him. Dodgson was an art historian and museum curator. He was the Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum for twenty years. With the cover designed by Vivien Gribble. The artists whose illustrations are presented in this work include Lady Mabel Annesley, Robert Gibbings, Philip Hagreen, Rupert Lee, Noel Rooke, Edward Wadsworth, and Margaret Pilkington. A wonderful example of woodcuts from English artists.
Condition
In a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. In the scarce dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with just some minor shelfwear to the extremities. A few light marks to boards. Dustwrapper is rubbed to the spint and wraps. Minor chips to the extremities. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
