Compiled during Irving's visit to Spain in 1829, this work consists of a collection of popular myths relating to Granada collected from research in the Granada University Library archives. The book combines description, myth and narrations of real historical events, all told to capture the beauty of the landscape and people of the area. This copy contains an introduction by the notable American writer Elizabeth Robins Pennell, with illustrations by her husband Joseph Pennell.
Condition
Rebound in a full crushed morocco binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to extremities. Slight handling marks to boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned to extremities but very bright and clean throughout. Scattered spotting only to first and last few pages.
