Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce work. In Portuguese. A collection of humorous amphomorphic animal colour illustrations. With fifty color plates. Illustrated by Benjamin Rabier, a French illustrator, and comic book artist. He started working as an illustrator for various newspapers, and his works normally had animals as main characters. He created the famous character of Gideon the duck.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Some loss of paper to the boards, heavier to the front board. Marks and some discolouration to the boards. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot. Small closed tears to the tails of some pages, with a larger tear to page 15.
