A limited edition of this work, signed by both Gertrude and Stephen Bone to the limitation page. This copy being number two hundred and seventy three of two hundred and fifty copies printed for sale. 

An engaging story set in the countryside, wanting to represent familiar peasants as human beings expressing the common human needs and feelings. 

With the unclipped dustwrapper. Profusely illustrated throughout with woodcuts by Stephen Bone.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, with titles stamped to sticker to spine. Externally lovely with minor shelfwear only. Signed by the author and the artist to limitation page. The dustwrapper is unclipped and excellent with only minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Minor faint scattered spotting to fore edge, not affecting pages that remain bright and clean. The occasional leaf was left unopened. Profusely illustrated throughout with woodcuts by Stephen Bone.
