Written by Charles Kingsley. Kingsley was a priest for the Church of England, and was a friend and correspondent of Charles Darwin, writing this novel partly in satire of 'In Origin of Species'.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Spine is a little discoloured. Small mark to the rear joint. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is age-toned and spotted, with some edge wear, resulting in chips and closed tears, heavier to the head of the spine and rear wrap. Two small tide marks to the rear wrap. Small patch of wear to the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
