WIth a map and folding genealogical table to the rear. With four postcards written by Ritchie to the reviewer at the times thanking him for his review and expressing their shared feelings on Thackeray. Newspaper clipping of the review also loosely inserted. A biographical work on the life of William Ritchie during his time in India. William Ritchie was Advocate-General of Bengal. He was the cousin of novelist William Makepeace Thackeray.

Condition

In a cloth binding. Externally, smart with some light rubbing and bumping in places. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with patches of spotting. Small closed tear to genealogical table.
