The first edition, first impression of this very scarce work.
Retaining the unclipped front wrap, back strip, and front flyleaf of the original dust wrapper.
Wentworth-James authored fifty or so decorous romance novels, many with science fiction and fantasy themes, as with this work.
Due to the somewhat risque nature of her novels, a number were banned from public libraries.
With the extensive former owner's inscription of N. A. Fisher in pencil to the front free endpaper.
Undated; dated 1920 via the British Library.
With six pages of advertisements to the rear.
Wentworth-James is remembered for such works as 'The Soul That Came Back' and 'The Television Girl'.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Back strip age toned, with light handling marks to rear wrap, and with significant mark to front wrap tail. Lacking the dust wrapper rear wrap and flyleaf. Front wrap bright, with minor loss to wrap head and small closed tear to wrap tail. Small losses of paper to back strip head and tail, and two significant horizontal tears to back strip. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
