Featuring monochromatic illustration, and twelve colour illustrated plates by various illustrators, including Henry Thomas Alken. Alken was an English painter and engraver chiefly known as a caricaturist and illustrator of sporting subjects, as seen within this text. This copy features an introduction by Lord Willoughby de Broke. A new edition.

Condition

In a cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, a trifle rubbed with marks and tidemarks to boards. Wear to bumped corners and bumping to head and tail of spine. Loss to spine. Internally, generally firmly bound though one plate is disbound. Light foxing and handling marks to pages but plates bright and clean.
