Hans Heysen was an Australian artist who was well known for his beautiful watercolour paintings of Australian gum trees. He was awarded the Wynne Prize for landscape painting nine times.
Illustrated with sixty five plates in total, with thirty two in colour and thirty three in monochrome. Collated, complete.
Prior owner's ink inscription from 1924 to the first free endpaper.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding and paper boards. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some slight wear to the head and tail of the spine. Prior owner's ink inscription from 1924 to the first free endpaper. The hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some occasional light spotting particularly to the endpapers.
