A detailed account of the service of the 42nd East Lancashire Division of the British Army during the First World War. This division served in Egypt and on the Suez Canal from 1914 to 1915, moved through the Sinai Peninsula and Romani through 1917, before arriving in Marseilles in March 1917 to serve on the French front with the British Expeditionary Force.

Written by Frederick P. Gibbon. 

Including small prefaces by Major-General A. Solly-Flood, Field-Marshal Douglas Haig, General Ian Hamilton, and more. 

Illustrated with thirty-three plates and five maps, three of which are folding. 

Collated and complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with some light shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. A few small spots to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Some spotting to the half title page, and the odd spot throughout, otherwise pages are bright and clean.
