Many of the stories are told from the perspective of the character, such as 'The Story of Pip as Told by Himself'. With a frontispiece by Victor Prout. In a prize binding from Quilmes High School. The author, J Walker McSpadden, is probably best known for the work 'Robin Hod and His Merry Outlaws'.

In a full calf prize binding. Crest of Quilmes High School to the front board. Externally, smart with bumping to the extremities. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown addressed to one Mary J Ballantine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
