A first edition of the work, in the original publisher's maroon cloth binding.

This work is a Lost Adventure novel by American author Richard Barry, set in the American South-West. The story follows the experiences of Ranor, who is unhappy with his life and therefore takes off on a journey looking for adventure in the form of a cure, or death.

This novel has a colour frontispiece of a man and woman, illustrated by American painter and illustrator Ralph Pallen Coleman. Coleman was known for his magazine and religious illustrations, with his career spanning more than half a century.

Ink inscription to front endpaper and paste down, saying 'Harold J. Lewis, Newfoundland Pa, from Dad' dated 2/22/22.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities. The odd mark, mainly to the rear board. Light fading to the spine. Ink inscription to front endpaper and paste down. Hinge slightly strained but holding firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
