Five volumes of Hodder and Stoughton's uniform editions of the works of Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie, in uniform full calf bindings.
Consisting of 'My Lady Nicotine', 'Margaret Ogilvy', 'Auld Licht Idylls', and the plays 'What Every Woman Knows' and 'Quality Street'.
Best remembered as the creator of Peter Pan, Barrie wrote a number of further successful novels and plays. This charming set would make a delightful addition to the library of an admirer of Barrie's works.
To the front free endpaper of each volume is a 1923 inscription to 'Cicely', on the occasion of her 21st birthday.
Condition
In the publisher's original full calf bindings, with gilt detailing. Boards bright and clean. Significant wear to spine heads, with losses to the leather in this region. Some spotting to fore edge of text block. With contemporary inscriptions to front free endpaper of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
