His sister, Mary E. Richardson, tells of his upbringing, attendance at Cambridge University, marriage and political campaigns as a Member of Parliament.
With an additional section of his writings to the rear, with reminiscences of the Derby, Royal Ascot, Eton and Harrow and show jumping, amongst others.

Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine head and tail. With slight darkening to the spine cloth, however gilt text remains unaffected. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot, heaviest to the first and last few leaves. Ex libris plate of Richard Green to the front free endpaper.
