A charming volume depicting garden ornament, with numerous images of gates, steps, garden houses, bridges, fountains, and more. A chapter is dedicated to Japanese gardens. With an introduction by Gertrude Jekyll.
Fully illustrated in text with black and white photography, with a beautiful coloured frontispiece by George S. Elgood.
Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding, gilt to the edges. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities minor marking and general light soiling to the boards and spine. Hinges are slightly strained to the title page, holding. Internally, the volume is firmly bound. Light spotting to the frontispiece, otherwise the pages are bright and clean throughout. Fully illustrated in text with black and white photography, with a beautiful coloured frontispiece by George S. Elgood.
