By Gertrude Jekyll, British horticulturist and garden designer, often described as a 'premier influence in garden design' by gardening enthusiasts; she created various gardens around the UK, US, and Europe, and wrote numerous articles for magazines such as Country Life.

A charming volume depicting garden ornament, with numerous images of gates, steps, garden houses, bridges, fountains, and more. A chapter is dedicated to Japanese gardens. With an introduction by Gertrude Jekyll.

Fully illustrated in text with black and white photography, with a beautiful coloured frontispiece by George S. Elgood.

Condition

Rebacked with the original boards and spine restored, with library shelf number on cloth to the spine. Externally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Minor marking to the boards and spine. With library bookplate to the front pastedown. The hinges are cloth reinforced. Discreet library stamp to the contents page and last leaf of text. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Fully illustrated in text with black and white photography, with a beautiful coloured frontispiece by George S. Elgood.
