Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. Illustrated throughout all three volumes with thirty five plates across 3 volumes. Wilbur Lucius Cross was an American literary critic who served as the 71st Governor of Connecticut from 1931 to 1939. He wrote several books including Life and Times of Laurence Sterne. Henry Fielding was an English novelist and dramatist best known for his earthy humour and satirical prowess.
Condition
In original maroon cloth bindings. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to the head and tail of spines. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
