The first edition of this work. This work offers an interesting history of the pistol, revolver, and fire-arms, and how they have developed and become popularised over history. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and thirty-seven plates. Written by Hugh B. C. Pollard. Pollard was a firearms expert, British SOE officer, and author, who is best known for his intelligent war during the Irish War of Independence.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, with some light fading to the spine. A little marking to the boards and spine. Rea hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot and the odd mark. Plates 4 and 5 are detached but present.
