Whilst primarily remembered for his biography of his uncle Lord Macaulay, Trevelyan was also a notable historian writing many influential works including his 'Early History of Charles James Fox' and his study of the American Revolution. This is Volume I only. A New Edition. Complete with a portrait frontispiece of the author with a facsimile of his signature, and a folding coloured map of to Boston the rear of the text.

Condition

Rebound in a half crushed morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally excellent. Very slightly rubbed to extremities head and tail of spine.Very slight rubbing to front joint. Front hinge partially split, strained but firm. Slight offsetting to very extremity of endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout. Slight age toning to page edges. Very small closed tear to gutter of folding map, otherwise very bright and clean.
