The first edition of this uncommon work, rare to find in as pleasing a condition.

A selection of fictional letters written from a soldier in France, recounting his experiences in the trenches during the First World War across twenty-six letters in total.

This was one of the first works published about the war, being produced in the middle of the war.

Written by Alec John Dawson, a major during the First World War, known for his work as a military propagandist.

Condition

In the original publisher's pictorial card covers. Externally, generally, smart, with a fold down the front board. A small amount of loss to the spine. Light marks to the boards. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and clean.
