Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition thus embellished with nineteen lovely full page coloured plates by R. J. Enraght-Moony of the celebrated reminiscences of childhood by Kenneth Grahame, following the true first of 1895.
Eighteen tales recounted through charming imageries and metaphors rooted in the Ancient Greece, featuring many characters from Greek mythology; The adults are referred to as the 'Olympians.'
The Prologue and six of the stories appeared previously in The National Observer.
Celebrated for the writing style and for the world created by Grahame, in which the adults have forgotten what it means to be young, and are in continuous warfare with the children. This was a theme that became very popular later on and was explored by other authors.
