In the publisher's original binding with a school crest on the rear. Prize inscription reads 'Prize for German presented by Lady Cooper to Olive Carr Form VB 1928'.
Illustrated by C. F. Newall with fifty colour plates, including a frontispiece, and twenty-four monochrome photographs by the author. Collated complete.
This guide to plants was written by Charles A. Hall. The work covers a variety of plant species from microscopic organisms to flowering plants. The guide endeavoured to teach budding botanists and gardeners about plant growth, introducing the reader to more technical terms accompanied by an index, and discussing the subject of crypto-gamic plants.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart with fading, prominently to the spine and extremities of the boards, small minor damp stains and minor marks to the boards, very minor cockling to the head of the front boards and bumping and very small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine. School crest to the rear. Prize inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1928 and light spotting to the rear endpapers. Internally firmly bound with offsetting to the odd page, the odd minor spot, heavier to the front and rear and generally bright pages.
