A new edition of Mrs. Beeton's popular cookery book, revised, enlarged, brought up to date and fully illustrated. Originally published in 1861, this volume continued to be a best seller even after the author's death and remained in print as of 2016. 

A large volume containing multiple and varied recipes, with chapters on maintaining a household and entertaining guests, keeping up with the home, and etiquette. A useful all-round Victorian guide on the management of a household, including gardening, and chapters on nutrition and nursing.

Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous full page plates, both in colour and in black and white. With twenty leaves of publisher's advertisements fully coloured. Collated, complete with half title.

Condition

In a full cloth binding, re backed with the original boards and leather spine restored. Externally smart with some shelf wear and a minor soiling to the boards and some bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint tide mark affecting the upper margin up to p. 27 and some minor soiling to the first and last few leaves, which are also slightly chipped and professionally tape repaired where possible. The pages are otherwise generally clean with only a hint of age toning, as usual. Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous full page plates, both in colour and in black and white. With twenty leaves of publisher's advertisements fully coloured. Collated, complete with half title.
