What Our Customers Say...

Description

Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

Very scarce work.

A pamphlet looking into the Defence of the Realm Act (DORA) that was put in place during World War One. The Act gave the British government extraordinary emergency powers during the War. In Ireland the Act was applied in a harsher manner, used to institute martial law.

Though the imposition of the Act was felt strongly in Ireland, it was later significantly expanded upon after the 1916 Easter Rising.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, the outer leaves are a little edgeworn with some discolouration and spots. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean.
