1915 Ancient Interiors in Belgium
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Limited Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A fascinating historical work on the architecture and design of ancient interiors in Belgium, including churches, manor houses, abbeys, castles, government buildings, and more. This work is exceptionally poignant, given that the final five illustrations detail buildings in Ypres, including the Cloth Hall, which were demolished during the First World War.
Written by Professor K. Sluyterman in collaboration with Councillor A.H. Cornette, translated into English by Oscar Schepens.
Including one hundred heliotype plates from photographs by G. Sigling. Collated and complete.
Part of a limited edition publication of only two hundred copies, of which this one is number thirty-five. Signed by the publishers, 'Hutchinson & Co.', to the limitations page.
Disbound as issued, and enclosed in the original smart cloth portfolio.
Containing a previous owner's small ink signature to the front pastedown.
