    First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, Uncommon

    First edition of An Untamed Territory The Northern Territory of Australia by Elsie R. Masson in the original publisher's cloth binding. 

    Signed and inscribed by the author to the half title in French. The message translates to 'Smoke passed, friendship remained. Jo Pitt Rivers from E. R. M.'

    An uncommon edition with only twelve copies held in libraries. 

    Elsie Rosaline Masson was an Australian photographer, traveller and writer. In this work, she studies life in Darwin, and collected the material for her study in 1913 and 1914. 

    Illustrated with thirty three monochrome plates and two colour maps. Collated, complete.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the very occasional spot.
