A Song of the English is a poem by Rudyard Kipling which was first published in Illustrated Magazine in 1893 and included six subsidiary songs. The collections of poems and songs explore the idea that the English are chosen under the Lord, so long as they obey the law.
Rudyard Kipling was an English novelist, and was amongst the most popular authors during the late 19th and early 20th centuries with his Jungle Book and Just So Stories remaining classics today.
This is a beautifully illustrated copy of this collection of poetry, illustrated by W. Heath Robinson. With sixteen tipped in colour plates and many black and white illustrations throughout the text.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some marks to the boards and spine. Some fading to the spine also. An inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1915. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
