Illustrated throughout with many diagrams in the text. Published for the Ray Society. The Ray Society is a scientific text publication society founded in 1844. It was named after John Ray, the 17th-century naturalist, and is a publishing organization whose activities are devoted mainly to the British flora and fauna.
Condition
In a cloth binding with paper-covered boards. Externally, sound, though with some handling marks, bumping, and institutional lettering to the front board. Institutional labels to front endpaper and pastedown. Internally, binding strained in place. Pages are bright, and generally clean, with just a few instances of foxing, and scattered ink stamps throughout.
