What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
One of Andrew Lang's Fairy Books, a series of twenty five collections of true and fictional children's stories, published between 1889 and 1912. The most popular are the twelve 'coloured' fairy books, illustrated by Henry Justice Ford.
The present volume is a new impression of Andrew Lang's retelling of the popular Arabian Nights collection of folk tales from the Middle East. Originally published in this form in 1898.
Published by Scottish poet, novelist, and critic Andrew Lang, who edited and wrote prefaces for the entire run, and his wife Leonora Blanche Alleyne, who assumed editorial control in the 1890s.
The Arabian Nights Entertainments features thirty-four stories from Arabian Nights adapted for children. Notably, it contains the popular story of 'Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp.'
