Sam Darling (1852-1921) was a British racehorse trainer at Beckhampton, Wiltshire who trained two Derby winners, Galtee More and Ard Patrick.
This autobiography delves into his early days, the beginning of his career at Beckhampton, recollections of jockeys he worked with and anecdotes from training his Derby winners.

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. Internally, with one plate loosening, but otherwise firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with occasional scattered spots. Bookplate of Richard Green to the front free endpaper.
