Early trade edition, without 'Limited' to the publisher's name, Hodder and Stoughton became Limited in 1920; with 'From The Little White Bird' only to the verso of the title page; and baby Peter to the front board sitting on a mushroom playing the pan flute. Without the list of plates.
'Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens' is one of Barrie's four major works containing the beloved and popular character Peter Pan.
Most of the text in this work originally appeared Barrie's 1902 novel 'The Little White Bird' in chapters 13 to 18.
Illustrated with decorative endpapers, a colour frontispiece, and fifteen colour plates.
Collated, complete.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Text to the spine is faded. A little rubbing to the spine. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Spots to the fore edge. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the verso of the half-title.
