An interesting pamphlet by former Professor of Chinese at King's College, Sir Walter Caine Hillier. Dated from Jisc 1914.

In this pamphlet, Hillier annotates an alphabetical system in the aid of writing Chinese, with instructions on how to apply it to the typewriter, and to the linotype and other typecasting and composing machines. 

Included is the adaptation of said system to the Braille system for the blind. 

In the original publisher's paper wraps. 

Hillier's volumes on Chinese for students are highly sought after and dear.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only and a minor spotting to the front wrap, with some faint minor handling marks across the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
